Fun Friday Family Fun Facts

  • I love alliteration!!
  • Origins of names:
Jason Scott - it was the [early] 70's and everyone was being named Jason!  His mom liked it and Dad did not; obviously mama won!
Nora Talbot - my great grandmother and mom are named Nora; Talbot is my mom's maiden name
Haley Higgins - great grandmother Nora's maiden name was Haley; Higgins is Jason's mom's maiden name
Grace Talbot - Grace...I just liked it; ended up fitting her just perfectly as she struggled the most during the girls' hospital stay (Jason wanted Gracie!); Talbot, see above!
Samuel Scott - Samuel is my grandfather's name (Sambo) and see above for Scott

  • Jason was a star athlete in high school playing football, basketball and baseball.  He even played baseball in college
  • I was the LCP Class of 1995 Co-Valedictorian (and no longer embarrassed by that!)
  • All of our children were born on Fridays
  • I have flat feet
  • We go through a gallon and a half of milk and 3-4 rolls of toilet paper each week
  • Sam weighs about 8 pounds more than the girls and uses his larger size to his advantage as he tackles them with more frequency than his sisters or his parents would like
  • Speaking of Jason and the early 70's, he is 4 years older than me (which means he'll be 37 on his next b'day!)
  • We met at the Bank of America building in Midtown Atlanta as we worked together at Ernst & Young (10 years ago in November!)
  • I thought the girls were going to be boys before the official sonogram revealed their true gender
  • We knew Sam was a boy at a 13 week ultrasound (wink, wink); however, it was a level 2 ultrasound at the maternal/fetal specialist's office!
  • Sam loves peanut butter and has a half of a pb sandwich (Haley cut which means no crust) each morning
  • It rained and poured on our wedding day until an hour before the outdoor, beach front ceremony!
  • Gracie has to be in the middle for everything...in car seats, at the table, on the sofa (she is technically the middle child)
  • Haley likes Daisy Duck and Gracie likes Minnie Mouse; Haley likes dresses and Gracie prefers shorts/jeans.
  • Sam knows the first verse of Amazing Grace and Come Thou Fount (which he calls come the fountain)

I love this! And somehow, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that I knew most of it already. :)

I loved the fun family facts. I didn't know about the valedictorian thing, but am not surprised by it. Now I know why you were so intrigued by mine and Jason's names. (never to be repeated)

Great fun facts, I always wondered Grace's middle name b/c of I knew it was T!! I am a little obsessed with names, and tend to ask people their middle names early on and love to know the whys! Hug those girls for me and Happy Mother's Day!

Loved this post and your Mother's Day Post (that menu sounded amazing....can we come next time Jason cooks???). I knew alot of those facts, but it was fun to revisit them with you! And don't ever be embarrased by that Co-Valedictorian status...you earned it (and I guarantee it wasn't easy!!!)!! Also, Dwayne will be 37 on his next b-day....didn't realize we both married "older men"...ha ha. love,Jennifer
